RHST: John Terry’s Reign of Terror Continues

Let it go man! First its shagging a teammate’s girl, now you’re running over stewards at Stamford Bridge with your car! John Terry is clearly out of control and must be stopped!…actually it wasn’t really his fault and the injury was not serious, but it’s still an amusing story considering all the bad press that the Chelsea captain has dealt with over the past months. It also doesn’t help that every headline about the incident makes it sound like he ran the poor guy down like Christine chasing a victim. I honestly can’t wait to see what Terry has planned next, he’s becoming more interesting than the Most Interesting Man in the World.

Alright, that’s an obvious lie but it sounded so good that I couldn’t resist writing it. For the record, The Most Interesting Man in the World is MUCH more interesting than John Terry.

In other Chelsea news…JOSE! JOSE! JOSE! JOSE! JOSE!

Here in the USA no ghost of coaching past haunts a team owner quite like Jimmy Johnson does Jerry Jones. The Dallas Cowboys have never been the same team since Jimmy Johnson left, failing to reach the same heights under a series of successive coaches (Barry Switzer’s Super Bowl doesn’t count, that was Jimmy’s team…in much the same way that Tubby Smith’s NCAA Title at Kentucky really belongs to Rick Pitino). After Inter’s 1-0 defeat of Chelsea yesterday that sent Roman Abramovich’s Blues packing from the Champions League, European football now has their own ghost story. This isn’t just any managerial specter hanging over a club and an owner, this is one special ghost…admit it, you chuckled. Worst yet for Abramovich, the Special One will probably be back in the EPL next season to further terrorize his old boss. As is so often the case in sports, despite all the effort to move forward, it always come back to chasing the past.
