Red Headed Step Thoughts: Boot in Ass
In an attempt to get myself to write more, I’ve going to take a shot at a daily news/reaction post which I’ve cleverly titled “Red Headed Step Thoughts”. Not sure if the title will stick, but we shall see.
Or so we thought at least, until Saturday when Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies accused Derby manager Nigel Clough of deliberately kneeing him in the bum..or the leg…during a massive discussion of the latest handbags at Pride Park. For as many people that got involved in the dust-up, it was rather disappointing; just a lot of namby pamby posturing. While relations have never been warm and fuzzy feelings between the two clubs, this is the second year in a row with a large “brawl” between the two sides that has included players and staff. While I’m sure the FA is none to pleased, this stuff is highly entertaining and is guaranteed YouTube hits for those that post the video evidence.
Who can forget this classic bit of business from last season…Robbie Savage proves what an arse he is right off the bat, the real fireworks start around the 2:30 mark.
Ever wonder why I didn’t get the web domain ginge.com? See for yourself (Nothing bad, perfectly safe for work)
Seems the Kasey Keller/Freddie Ljungberg spat in Seattle is resolved. Too bad really, the whole thing reminded me of two old men hitting each other with their canes over their places in the retirement home breakfast line.
The Philadelphia Union have agreed to a $20 million naming-rights deal for their new stadium with PPL Corporation, a Pennsylvania based energy company. Much better than a large mediocre pizza company for my money but what everyone wants to know is when will Santa Claus make an appearance at PPL Park?
