David Beckham, How I Despise Thee
As some of you might have noticed (at least those of you who follow me on Twitter) might of noticed yesterday, I lost my temper about ‘ol Golden Balls…just a wee bit. I’m not apologizing for my 140 character or less rant, but I suppose it’s a reasonable to provide some some clarification as to my state of mind.

The genesis of my angst was Beckham’s repeated assaults on Ricardo Clark’s ankle, culminating in what should have been a text book red card for violent play. Beckham’s tackle was nasty, calculated and just plain dirty. Fortunately for the Dyanmo and the USMNT, the tackle connected more with his foot than his ankle because Bob Bradley’s injury woes were sure to increase had that underwear model hit his presumed target.
So I lost my temper. I’m not sorry, I’m just tired.
I’m tired of Beckham…tired tired tired (to borrow from Chris Rock) of the supposed halo around this clown. Tired of his dirty play and his willingness to assault players and referees alike who dare to question his play. Tired of MLS being virtually unwilling to punish Beckham for his violent play (he strangled FCD’s Daniel Hernandez and there was nary a word from the MLS’ Ivory Tower). At least Kevin Stott gave him a yellow card for the tackle, but there should have been a red shown and a suspension…not that the MLS would dare to suspend their cash cow window dressing with the Galaxy finally returning to the playoffs.
I’m tired of that beard too.
Ricardo Clark will play on despite Golden Balls’ best efforts and I suppose that is the bright spot in all this. I likely made new friends and enemies in the Twitterverse but I’m used to that. Beckham is off to AC Milan in January and if there is any justice, he’ll never come back. David please just opt out of your contract and go away. 19 Entertainment and Uncle Phil’s “grand experiment” has gone tits up leaving us with Peter Boyle-like monster from Young Frankenstein, without the comedic genius of that character.
Take the kids, take the surgically constructed no-talent wife, sell the house and have fun losing on penalty kicks in the quarterfinals of the 2010 World Cup. Major League Soccer is better off without you…but if you do come back to make us all suffer some more, here’s hoping Rico Clark, Daniel Hernandez and Adrian Serioux put you in your place.

Let me be the first to applaud. I could not agree more.
Agreed. He is a one man circus.
Oh, how I so agree with you… all the way down to Yuckham's facial hair!
Beckham DID inspire a bit more mainstream media coverage that brought more fans and more awareness! I hope for the sake of MLS we are able to find another big name player who can do that and actually make a POSITIVE impact ON THE FIELD!
Was barely even a yellow. To say it deserved a red is looking at the foul through orange tinted glasses.
But his retaliation after the tackle and continued medley which he constantly does is punishable by an ejection. An Englishman through blue tinted glasses that is also sick of his bullshit!
It was Ricardo Clark who retaliated (violently) and sparked the melee.
…and Rico received a yellow for his reaction, which really wasn't that bad.
I could forgive Beckham for the vagenas lunge, but the Rico talk points to two things: Becks get favorable calls AND is a woeful tackler-center mid
I'm slowly, deliberately stockpiling my rage for when he and Simon Fuller make their play to buy the Crew and move them to Las Vegas.
Wow Jrodius, I didn't know you could get orange tinted glasses on an FC Dallas fan. But then, I guess you don't read the "about me" stuff.
From what I could see in the stadium, Ching got the red card for poking Becky in they finger with his chest while quietly listening to his loadship[sic] yell. Right card, wrong person, wrong team.

Best games are shown on Fox Soccer Channel and Setanta – got fed up with the lack of decent quality P2P streams that were 'here today and gone tomorrow'. I can also watch the Saturday afternoon Premier League games not shown in the UK. I have a SlingCatcher, so I can watch the stream on my 37"LCD TV at a very watchable resolution. Keeps the wife and son quiet too, she gets all her Lost and Desperate Housewives long before they are shown here and he gets all his MLB and NFL games. Saves me forking out for an ESPN/NASN subscription!
