Lescott Not Leaving? Naughton Not Coming? Who Knows.

While David Moyes did not mention him by name, seems the mainstream media believes Moyes statements two nights ago at the Everton shareholder’s forum made it clear that Joleon Lescott will not be leaving Goodison.

“I have already said there will be no players sold at Everton and I do not feel I need to say any more”

“The board have never sold a player from me, it will only be at my discretion. I said it at the end of the season and I do not need to say any more.”

Works for me.

Then yesterday Manchester City officially submitted a £15 million pound bid for Lescott, which Everton has promptly rejected. Everton chief executive, Robert Elstone, has this so say Friday…

“As a Club, we have publicly stated – as recently as Wednesday night – that we do not intend selling any players,” he said “David Moyes’ primary focus is on building a squad so that we can continue to compete effectively in what is the most competitive League in world football.”

Expect another attempt by Citeh in the ballpark of £20 million, especially as the likelihood of the club being able to pry John Terry from Chelsea diminishes.

At what point might Moyes and Everton have to say we could use the money more than the player?

As for transfer target Kyle Naughton…who knows what is happening. At this point, I’m just going to wait until there is something official from the club. This situation is more confusing than trying to watch Mulholland Drive.

"so that we can continue to compete effectively in what is the most competitive League in world football."

    What is he on?

The most competitive League in the world, the one where discounting Blackburn's one off only THREE teams have won the title since the 'Premier' Leagues inception in 1992

    Man Utd-11 times
    Arsenal-3 times
    Chel$ki-2 times.

"most competitive League in world football." MY ASS.

It's getting almost as bad as Scotland where no other team outside the "Old Firm" have won it in 24 years.

    Celtic-9 times
    Rangers-15 times
