LFCNY: HJC campaign has no knowledge of Cohen offer.
LFCNY PRESS RELEASE
HJC campaign has no knowledge of Cohen offer.
New York, Tuesday 2nd June 2009 – Steve Cohen has launched a website soliciting funds to keep his show World Soccer Daily alive. In his original request copy, he lied and accused Liverpool FC of being behind the boycott campaign and that “this is the United States of America and if these people [campaign organizers] were operating out of the Middle East we would call them terrorists…lets show them that we are not effected [sic] or intimidated by a bunch of thugs who are behaving like the Taliban.”
He has since changed that copy but includes this wonderful closing line, “a donation to WSD goes directly to keeping WSD on the air, and a percentage also goes to the Hillsborough Justice Group charity.” Funny, in February merchant of hate Cohen said that this group “couldn’t be more corrupt and more blatantly ridiculous.” Now he wants to give them money?
If Steve Cohen is referring to the Hillsborough Justice Campaign (HJC), then they have never heard of this ‘benevolent’ offer and have said in direct response, “we don’t want his money. He’s a disgrace. It would be like taking money off the S*n.”

He’s an idiot if he stated that some of the funds would go directly to HJC without clearing it with them first. I suppose he could donate the funds anonymously, but then what’s the point? No one would ever be able to verify if he did or not.
Say what you want about the whole controversy, it’s the mistakes and missteps that Cohen has made through the process that really have to have you scratching your head.
He’s a clown, plain and simple. Put all the Hillsborough disaster comments and ideas aside, he is a lazy, ignorant idiot who only cares about Chelsea and doesn’t do research properly before speaking. The whole saying of “think before you speak” Cohen finds it too complicated to understand. The reality is a lot of us who played high school, college or amateur football know a lot more about the game then Cohen does.
